CLUB POLICIES

CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT
All members of the Harbord Bowling & Recreation Club have an individual and collective responsibility to contribute in a positive way to success of their club.

The Club Code of Conduct applies equally to all member and their guests, including players from other clubs visiting the Harbord Bowling for social or sporting competitions.

ON THE GREEN
1.Bowlers must display respect to their teammates, opponents, and umpires, and play the game within Bowls NSW Conditions of Play, to the highest degree of sportsmanship and honesty.
2.Players and spectators will not use offensive or abusive language, cause dissent, engage in conduct unbecoming, or actions which would bring the games of bowls or the Club into disrepute.
3.Encouragement and support is expected, however, spectators on the banks will conduct themselves in a manner that ensures that players are not distracted and that their conduct does not distract, nor detract, from the games being played.

WITHIN THE CLUBHOUSE
1.Members, family and guests are encouraged to enjoy the hospitality of the Club without the fear of acts of racial vilification or verbal abuse.
2.Members, family and guests will ensure that the comfort of other patrons is not unreasonably disturbed.
3.Members, family and guests will respect other patrons and will conduct themselves in a manner that will not cause offense.
4.Abusive or offensive language is not permitted within the clubhouse or its surrounds
5.Members, family and guests, when consuming alcohol, will do so responsibly, and will accept any staff or management decision to amend behaviour or discontinue the serving of alcohol without complaint.

DRESS CODE
1.The Club uniform, including shirt and pants, must be worn for all social, pennant, club championships, and any other games as determined by the Match Committee. For social bowls, women may wear smart casual clothing.
2.Visiting members will be required to wear their full club uniform for all social, pennant and other games as determined by the Match Committee.
3.All bowlers must wear suitable bowling shoes during any social, pennant or club championship games.
4.Male members are asked not to wear hats in the Clubhouse.

SMOKING AND ALCOHOL

1.Smoking is not permitted by law in the Clubhouse or within four (4) metres of any club entrance or pedestrian access point. Smoking is not permitted, at any time, on the greens. Smokers must dispose of butts correctly.
2.Members are to respect the rights of other members who wish to smoke in allowable areas.
3.The consumption of alcohol is not permitted, at any time on the greens.

HBC Club Policy

PENNANTS
1.Players will respect and accept the decision of the selectors and play in the team where selected.
2.Players who make themselves unavailable after the team is selected without an acceptable reason may not be considered for further selection throughout the season.
The Bowls Committee and the Board of the Harbord Bowling Club may take any action considered necessary on occasion of a reported breach of this Code of Conduct. Such action may include a warning or suspension and/or referral to Bowls NSW if it is deemed appropriate.
