SUMMER NIGHTS ON THE GREEN
BOWL FOR ARCHIE OUR MIRACLE MAN

THE EVENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS RAISING $74,000 - THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Archie learning to lift his head at NAPA (Neurological and Physical Abilitation) a specialist therapy centre.

Archie has an amazing connection with his big sister Alba.

Archie took his first supported steps at NAPA just before Christmas.

The Harbord Bowling Club and the local community came together for Summer Nights on the Green a barefoot bowls fundraising event on Saturday 2 March to raise $74,000 to help one very special little boy called Archie and his family to purchase a modified, wheelchair-accessible Volkswagen Comfortline Multivan.

Two year-old Archie was born with a very rare condition called Anophthalmia SOX 2, causing him to be born with no eyes. It also left him with a range of other medical challenges including a hearing impediment, gross motor delay, moderate aspiration (which can cause fluid on the lungs) and a rare form of epilepsy. He also suffers from several brain abnormalities and is fed exclusively via a tube.

More than 180 people turned out for the big day with 30 four-person teams taking part in the barefoot bowls – each team doing their best to out-do everyone else in the outrageous attire department.

The event kicked on into the evening with live music courtesy of the band ROCKBOX as well as live, silent auction and raffles to help reach the target.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE GENEROSITY – WE COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!

Spread the word with your friends & family!
